The Veil Nebula

Above is the same object as previous month's Astronomy Photo but with the stars less exposed to better reveal details of The Veil Nebula.
This is accomplished with astrophotography techniques which can be thought equivalent to turning down the gain of the stars but not for
the nebula.  The pinpoint brightness of the stars flood the camera sensor such that they begin to interfere with the fainter deep
sky object.  Reducing the exposure of the stars results in a more clear detailed image of the object of interest.
(Compare to last month's photo with stars at full exposure).
